BASE Documentation and communication of artists graduated from EESAB
BASE is a website published by Documents d'Artistes Bretagne to promote work by recent graduates of the European Higher School of Art of Brittany currently working as visual artists, graphic artists or designers.
DD'AB joined forces with the EESAB to create a documentation tool to highlight work by former students from the EESAB's four locations in Brest, Lorient, Quimper, Rennes.
On BASE website, the artists can publish a variety of material documenting their works (through photos, videos, texts) and providing an overview of their professional activity : news, work in progress.
The website was launched in 2013. After a three year period hosted on the website the portfolios are archived.
The EESAB European Higher School of Art of Brittany, Brest - Lorient - Quimper - Rennes is committed to helping its graduates advance professionally and offering them increased visibility in the national arts scene. The partnership with Documents D'artistes Bretagne was established with this goal in mind.

The EESAB was founded on the 27th of December 2010. It brings together the art schools from Brest, Lorient, Quimper and Rennes and counts roughly 900 students, making it the largest art school in France. Each pole is an establishment of higher learning and offers nationally certified diplomas (DNA, DNSEP).
Art Schools are places for teaching and learning, whether theoretical or practical. They are are also venues for creation, research, exhibits and publishing. They work with a variety of partners: universities, from the cultural and economic sectors. They contribute vitality and dynamism to the common wealth of the Brittany region and its cities.
The EESAB is part of the European network of Higher Education facilities and offers three options: Art - Communication - Design.
The EESAB is a Public establishment for Cultural Cooperation EPCC (établissement public de coopération culturelle) comprises the communities of Brest, Lorient, Quimper Communauté and Rennes, the Brittany Region and the State. It is also supported by the Departments of Finistère, Ille et Vilaine and Morbihan.

Since 2009, DD'AB publishes files with visual artists living in Brittany. These files are diffused throughout their professional network of coentmporary art and made accessible to all through its site ddab.org. DD'AB is part of a dynamic network bringing together all regional actors in contemporary art, so as to help artists diffuse their work.
DD'AB conducts professional training with students from the EESAB regarding how to document and communicate about their work.
DD'AB is located at Passerelle Centre d'art contemporain, Brest and is part of the Document d'artistes network.
